A weekly meme about (mostly) books and reading. This week's question:

Do you ever feel like you’re in a reading rut? That you don’t read enough variety? That you need to branch out, spread your literary wings and explore other genres, flavors, styles?

To be honest, for a long time, I felt perfectly happy only reading Christian historical fiction books! They were such feel good reads. My sister used to roll her eyes at me as she was never able to borrow any books of mine because that is not a genre she enjoyed. One of the reasons I started this blog actually, was to keep track of my journey in branching out into all different genres and styles of literature.

I've found myself recently adding all kinds of different genres of books to my TBR list on GoodReads (check out my Wishlist above) and getting excited about discovering new authors. I would like all of you, my followers, to know that I plan on reviewing YA, mystery, fantasy, chick lit etc...coming soon. I will get there, I promise! I'm definitely on my way to becoming a very eclectic reader now! :)

What about all of you?

  1. I love your layout! It is so nice. I have always been very diverse in my reading.

    Here is my BTT.

  2. I haven't read any Christian historical fiction. There is actually one available now on NetGally you may enjoy called CAIN. I think that's the same genre? It's a semi-fictional historical account of Cain, I think.

    Well-Read Reviews

  3. I enjoy reading a little bit of everything!

  4. A mixed variety helps.

    here's mine:

  5. Lol my sister rolls her eyes at all my YA novels, I end up having to buy a few chick lit books just for her.

  6. I find that I often go through spells were I read nothing but a certain genre. When I was pregnant with my first daugther I was really, really sick for months and I think I read 20 Amish fiction books! But they made me feel happy and that was what I needed at the time!

  7. My main reading choice last few years has been Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy, used to be Mystery Suspense Thrillers and before that growing up it was Westerns and more Westerns as that is what my father enjoyed and it was what was available to me...

Now my taste is all over the spectrum as my reading mood takes me.. Sometimes I read a YA, an adult romance, a thriller and a sci fi all at the same time or in the same week anyway...

Books are nice that way, they come in all shapes and sizes so to speak and there is always a one size fits all that is enjoyable to all of us at some point....
